SPAIN

Spain is not the most exciting place to watch football. The atmosphere is average in most of the biggest clubs (apart from FC Barcelona) and is usually quite bad in smaller clubs. However every has club has at least an ultras group and most of the major cities has two teams so there are still quite a few interesting games to go.

Best games:

  • Sevilla FC - Betis Sevilla : derby of Sevilla
  • Espanyol - FC Barcelona : derby of Barcelona (only interesting when Espanyol is the local team)
  • Real Madrid - FC Barcelona (only interesting when Real Madrid is the local team)
  • Atletico Madrid - Real Madrid: derby of Madrid
  • Deportivo de la Coruna - Celta de Vigo (not an actual derby, but still an important game)

    Newspapers:

There are many newspapers talking about football. Among them, Marca is the most famous but it is definitively not the best one. Even if you can buy it everywhere in spain, do consider it as a Madrid local newspapers and it is hence advised to buy a different newspapers if you are in another town than Madrid.
The fans (ultras) have their own magasine, called "super hincha": around 40 pages of photos about fans of every club.
