Most of people say England is definitively the place to be if your life is all about football."Their fans are the best and the atmosphere you'll see during a football game is something unique". This is what I was thinking when I went to my first english football game ever. Unfortunately I realised that it wasn't the case.Indeed, I watched a few games but it was always the same atmosphere.Mainly silence. of course sometimes, the whole stadium was singing and that was very impressive but it only happened 2 or 3 times during the game.Maybe I was unlucky, that's why I asked people around me what was wrong and I got a few answers.Hooliganism was an actual problem in England. Lots of violent fights occured. The football clubs had a good (or really bad) pretext to rise the prices of the tickets and to create new laws -preventing fans from standing while watching a football game.Plus all seats are allocated so you have no chance to seat next to your friend you just met at the pub
Anyway Can You imagine that?!! Rising up the price of the tickets in order to prevent violence and to keep poor fans (apparently considered as more violent) away ? Just imagine your mayor rising up the prices of the council tax of your town in order to keep poor people and violence away from your town... How disgusting would you think it is ? I let you think about it...
As a consequence, most of the actual fans are not going to the stadium as watching the game on tv is far more affordable. I would advise you to do the same. You'll get a better atmosphere in a pub and it's far cheaper.
