Celtic Park- Glasgow

  • Celtic Park
  • Capacity: 60501 places
  • Adress: 18 Kerrydale St, Glasgow, G40 3RE
  • Inaugurated: November 6th, 1887
  • Club: Glasgow celtic

The Celtic Parc is probably one of the most impressive stadiums in Scotland. Glasgow Celtic is playing there and most of the games are sold out. The game I went was sold out as well.

As my team (heart of midlothian) was playing there, I took a ticket to be with the away fans. Many scottish fans told me it would the best place to witness the astmosphere of a scottish game. It was sadly true: A long silence of 90 minutes, an expensive ticket, disgracing toilets if you consider you pay your ticket more than 20 pounds and a really expensive and bad food (I am not talking about the scottish food, i am talking about the food within the stadiums!).Anyway, once again, the atmosphere was quite bad.

How to get a ticket for a celtic game? Most of the games are sold out. You can try the ticket office or on the internet.here

How to go to the Celtic Park

  • By bus: just get the bus: 61, 62 or 64
  • By car:

from the north or south : by motorway, simply follow the M74 or M73 and the M74 (East) to the end of the road at Tollcross, then proceed for another mile along London Road to the ground.

    from the East or West:exit at M8 junctions 12, 13, and 14.

  • by train:from Glasgow Central or Argyle Street to Dalmarnock(5 minutes walk)

    The fans:

The atmosphere is nearly the same as any other scottish stadiums. However it seems that an ultra group has been recently created there.

Green Brigade.Created in the begining of the year 2006, the Green Brigade is a small groups of fans called ultras.Unfortunately we have never seen them.

The Celtic fans are mainly catholics. They are proud of their irish roots.Indeed the Celtic Club was created in 1888, in an area largely dominated by irish immigrants. The club became an actual symbol of ireland for most of them. Obviously their main rival are the glasgow rangers.

At last it is important to say that the Celtic fans are supposed to be quite good when their team play an european game away

    Songs:

can you here rangers sing? no no
can you hear rangers sing? no no
    can you hear rangers sing?
I cant hear a fucking thing nooo!
    ----

    Jingle bells,jingle bells,
    jingle all the way
oh what fun it is to fuck the Huns
    on New Year's day, hey!

    Night Clubs:
If you want to go out after the game, you can give a try at the garage or at the sharks on weekdays. You can also try the Cathouse on weekends
